Subject: A free issue of "The Philosophe"
I have temporarily opened the "subscribers" section of my website to
everyone (no password is required), so you or your friends can read the
first issue of "The Philosophe" at no charge. You can go there directly
by clicking:
http://www.thephilosophe.com/subscribers/
This first issue, which features a superb commentary by Jeff Riggenbach
on Ayn Rand's *The Art of Nonfiction* (as well as a secondary article by
me on Samuel Johnson), focuses on the "hack" writer.
The next issue, which will be posted around Sept. 15, will feature the
first part of my article on the history of independent, or market,
intellectuals. The second article, by the novelist Erika Holzer, is
titled, "Good Future: How Ayn Rand Contributed To Mine" This will be the
first contribution to our recurring "On Writing" series. Later
installments will include articles by other professional writers, such
as Barbara Branden and J. Neil Schulman.
If you enjoy the first issue, please consider subscribing to "The
Philosophe." If you are already a subscriber, please tell your friends
about us, perhaps by forwarding this email. The subscribers section will
be open to everyone until around Sept. 15.
Thanks,
George H. Smith
