Do you mean for off-the-cuff stuff (like emails), or longer works
(i.e., those that take at least an hour to write the first draft of)?
For longer stuff, once you've written the story, save it and do
something else for at least an hour. (At least a day works better, if
it's a truly serious effort that takes days or longer.) *Then*, with
the text purged from your short term memory, go back and read it,
looking for spelling and grammar errors.
For off-the-cuff, get in the habit of rereading your email just before
you send it. Basically a compressed form of the above, since
off-the-cuff shouldn't take an hour to do.
