A very quick reference:
http://philadelphia.bcentral.com/philadelphia/stories/1998/11/16/
story2.html
"Last year an estimated 385,000 international patients were treated
on an outpatient basis at U.S. hospitals and another 66,000
received inpatient care."
Apparently 1997's numbers.
I have several friends in the health care field, they say they get
foreign patients "all the time" primarily from Canada, but from
other places as well. Usually people who are on waiting lists back
home.
