Roger that. In all those references I did not hear about the Caspian
Sea or the possibility of using it as a reservoir. I did look at a map
and get a feel for how big it is. Looks to me like if those models
are correct and we can expect a 30 cm sea level rise in the next
century, we can bring the Caspian up to sea level and thereby
neatly cancel out the first 100 years of ocean rise with change to
spare. There does not appear to be much around the Caspian Sea
that cannot be purchased with pocket change. spike
