'The Day After' : a nuclear war movie that was tv broadcast with a
followup conference show with a science panel that included Carl Sagan.
They were all hyping these climate models based on rather unrealistic
assumptions and which concluded that nuclear war would cause worldwide
winter for several years at least.

"Dr. Strangelove" : did immense damage to the image of science in the
public eye.
