Except that I am reminded of Lee Iacocca's autobiography where he talks about
how the Reagan White House told Chrysler to take a hike when he went lobbying
there for a federal guarrantee on Chrysler's bailout loans from private banks.
He had to get congress to pass a law to get the bailout guarantee approved, and
got most of his support from the Democrats, who were obviously afraid of union
job losses if Chrysler went belly up.

You forgot that the donkey had his earmuffs on as well, which is why he couldn't
hear what the elephant was saying....
