I would agree with this, and it is something I have thought about a lot
over the past number of years. A few days ago, I referred to my penchant
for steak; it is important for me to point out, however, that I eat steak
because I like the taste. I have no illusions about the righteousness of
the food chain or my alleged place in it --realistically, we're all food
for bacteria, anyway. Therefore, I would have no objection to eating
cloned meat from anencephalic cattle or other animals, as long as it has
the same quality of taste. Over the years, I have asked a number of
vegetarians if they could claim the same --that if no animals were harmed
during the making of the meat, they would renounce vegetarianism.

Though I presume that the majority of vegetarians on this particular list
hold such a lifestyle due to the nutritional detriments of animal meat, I
am still interested in the opinions on the above...particularly if we could
doctor the nutritional quality as well.
