I like the Harris cartoon where there is a blackboard filled with
mathematics, and another scientist is crossing a big 'X' through it. The
first scientist asks, "That's it? That's peer review?"
Although my favorite Harris cartoon is the one about the triple-blind study.
The patients didn't know what they were getting, the doctors didn't know
what they were giving them, and unfortunately, nobody knew.
