1) It is a well known fact that the QWERTY layout was specifically
designed to minimize the problem of common consecutive keystrokes
locking up a mechanical typewriter. In other words, it has a built
in governor.
2) last time I checked the speed records for typing were held by
persons using Dvorak keyboards.
3) I use a standard QWERTY keyboard because that's what came with
the machine, and I don't type fast enough for it to make a
difference (60 words a minute tops.)
