Steve! I thought the person behind the emails might be the Prof. Steve
Davis that I met and liked back in the 1980s, when I was still in England
and active in the Libertarian Alliance.
BTW, my second ever public talk, which I gave to that organization, was
"Aspects of British Economic History: Some Libertarian Perspectives"
Sunday July 29 1984.
Steve, I don't know how much you know about Extropy Institute, but welcome
to the list. If you're now scratching your head, I should say that I
changed my surname in 1990, well after we last met.
Yes, historians are underrepresented on this List though, as you can tell,
certain people have plenty of knowledge in certain areas -- Greg Burch
especially in Chinese history, and quite a few of us in the history of
technology. I'm delighted to meet you again, if virtually. Any chance that
a stingy state university would pay your travel costs to come to the
Extro-5 conference where we will be addressing the issues you're discussing
with Greg?
Cheers,
Max
