Isn't it true that the Catholic church focuses more on actions than
beliefs? If you go to Mass, take Communion and engage in Confession,
observing the sacraments of the church, then I think you're supposed to be
in pretty good shape even if you harbor doubts about the existence of God.
I don't know how true this is (it may be a false stereotype), but if
there is some truth to it then Pascal's wager cannot be refuted on the
basis that it means trying to fool God with a false belief.
