Interesting enough there is a modest article in Popular Science (may 2001)
that covered some hypothetical "drives" that would extend the passage of
matter and information, well past light. I like the notion that however fast
the cosmos accelerates, we will find our way to the "edge" of the expansion
and manipulate it. There will be counter-arguments to this, but I suspect
nothing conclusive, scientifically. I hold to Kurzweil's conjecture, that
whatever forces the universe produces; gravity, electromagnetism, the weak
nuclear force, or the strong nuclear force, they will all, ultimately,
crumble before intelligence.
