I think some of the most common extropian (or rather, transhumanist) errors
are: a tendency to assume people have roughly the same values as they or are
hopelessly deluded and/or evil, a tendency towards technological determinism,
sometimes bordering on the idea of technological salvation ("deus ex
nanomachina").

The first error is really a human problem whenever they form groups sharing
the same memes. The second error is curable by reading up on the history and
economics of technology, and the third ought to be the target for more
analysis and problematisation.
