I agree this has been the primary issue, and discussed on this forum
before. That's why I wanted to reframe it.

There have been some interesting happenings along these lines: contrast
the recent decisions re the anti-abortion website that displayed
doctor's home addresses, with the guilty verdict in J-- B---'s trial in
T-----, Washington. (I hesitate to spell it out as someone has reported
being monitored after discussing this case, see politechbot). The
conclusion seems to be that we can monitor fellow citizens, but not
federal employees.
