Last night, on "Good Friday," ABC's "Nightline" ran a show where Robert
Krulwich interviewed a geneticist at MIT about the amazing things being
discovered in the human genome, and what they imply about human evolution.
In other words, its subject-matter was about as far removed from the
myth/legend/story of Jesus as it could possibly be.
I was struck by the irony of running such a show on a major holiday in the
Christian superstition. Perhaps this is ABC's way of telling us what its
management thinks of the folk beliefs in this country.
