This article "Viking's Genetic Legacy":
http://sciencenow.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/2001/316/2
makes it sound like the male vikings stole their females
from the British Isles on their way to Iceland (unless you
want to believe the Gaelic women were seafarers).
What a novel idea for a sim or role playing game! None of
this high tech stuff, just sail meself over to those windy
isles, capture meself a luvly wench and sail off to the
charmin land with all those outdoor hot-tubs...
Related. For those of you who want to help trace the history
of Northern Europe see:
http://phoenix.jr2.ox.ac.uk/cgg/atlas.htm
and
http://phoenix.jr2.ox.ac.uk/cgg/
They want *YOUR* DNA for the ancestor sims!
(Don't worry Eliezer, there's no "consciousness" involved.)
Now all you women and young ladies out there, you just be careful
at Extro 5 now that you know what kind of genes our Scandanavian
guests really have.
