Didn't Moravec make this suggestion somewhere? Or was it Tegmark? I know

I used the word "simulation" in the ordinary sense, but my reasoning would
apply also to the idea of creating baby universes. It would then go like
this: If we will ever create many baby-universes with lots of observers in
them (many more than there are in our universe) that are observing exactly
what we are observing, then it is highly probable that our universe is a
baby-universe.
