The implication of the above is that there is a relationship between cause
and effect and zombies, but I have no idea why that should be true.
After all, the only alternative to cause and effect is randomness.

It is neither true nor false because there is no qualia theory, at least I
have never heard of a theory that successfully explains how qualia works.
If there was a theory that detailed the mechanics of consciousness, given
what you said about cause and effect above, that would mean that a qualia
theory proves the impossibility of qualia. I already know from direct experience
that qualia exists thus a theory of qualia can never exist or cause and effect
does not imply zombies or both.
