Emlyn,

Here in the United States we have guaranteed rights under the Constitution.
As well, the government is limited by the Constitution. Just like any other
paper document, in the real world it is different, but in the case of the
Constitution one can hold it inviolable in the highest court of the land, and
no one on the U.S. argues against the Constitution and associated rights,
because no one wants that folly in our free country.

Basically, Americans regard freedom and democracy very highly, and are quick
to become ill-tempered with any whom would take it away.

You see, the United States, in a different way than Australia, became and is
the "New World", hundreds of years ago. Canada and Mexico are great.

So, don't hyperventilate.
