Another delightful example of this is Thomas J. Ryan's _The Adolescence of P-1_,
which depicts 1970's technology (the era of the IBM System/360 and System/370)
as the basis for AI.
I **love** seeing retro technology (especially retro computer technology),
from the period of my own childhood, depicted in films. Give me a 1958 DeSoto and a wall
full of blinking lights, and I'm in heaven :->
