Yes. Apparently the models predict a slightly weaker and more
deflected gulfstream, but that it is counteracted by local warming
here. The British isles may not be as happy.
Of course, the big problem here is the uncertainties in oceanic
currents and of course in the models. What we really need is an
understanding of where the bifurcation points are, so we can tell if
we are near any of them and must be very careful in modifying
parameters, or if we are in a fairly regular part of parameter
space. Once we have some estimates of that, chosing a strategy becomes
less risky.
