JSP is not microsloth technology. Most of the Java world (and no, it is
not a favorite language of mine) is not Microsoft controlled. A large
cut of the server market is non-Microsoft. So I don't buy that you have
to do MS specific technology to make it in the web-developer world. It
is unfortunately true though that many IT departments have bought into
MS hype. But generally their actual engineers know better and are
propping things up with Unix and Linux boxen. Even M$ is known to do
this.
You gotta eat but if you can, do not march to the MS beat. Resistance
is not futile.
