I should have been more specific: the Moisin-Nagant model 44
carbine, which can be found from around $50-$100 in sporting
good stores. One of the few things the Russian Commies did
well.

Another good source is Eric Ching's page; he invented the
modern sling for the concept rifle, now incorporated in
the Jeff Cooper package sold by Steyr:

He's excellent. He was one of my teachers some years
