Haven't been following the thread completely, but just as a sidebar
thought:
Sperm cells from one male may have specific roles in working
together rather than competing with other sperm from the same
male. Therein, some of these sperm are also programed to deter
other males' sperm in a hard-won competition.
Such theory may prove that females are not necessarily programed
to be monogamous.
