9.8 m/s per second is 611 kilometers per second per day. If light is
300,000 k/s, then it takes 490 days to get up to 'c' at a 'g'.
Likewise, if the turnover point is 0.4c, with steady acceleration, then
the average velocity through the trip should be 0.2c and the whole trip
should take around, oh, around forty minutes.
Are you sure you didn't confuse kilometers and meters?
