Dear Extropes,
Noting some special days:
On this day, December 27, 1571, Kepler discovered that planets travel on
elliptical orbits.
Also on this day, December 27, 1831, Darwin began his voyage on the
HMS Beagle.
On the day December 25, 1642, Isaac Newton was born.
Of course we all know that every day is a special day, but this is the time
of year when most people like to pause and reflect, therefore:
Happy Holidays, everyone!

"I do not know how I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to
have been only like a boy, playing on the sea-shore, and diverting
myself, in now and then finding a smoother pebble or prettier shell
than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered
before me." -- Isaac Newton
