It was a blunder on the part of the producers. Can you even imagine
how popular the Voyager series would be otherwise? Or the Next Generation,
whenever Troi were to get beamed up? The advertising time would
be more valuable than the super bowl. People would be offering
bribes to the writers to beam 7 of 9 somewhere, anywhere. Scotty
wouldn't get anything else done. spike
