Eugene,
Of course nanotechnology is dangerous!
All technological development is dangerous to some sectors of human &
nonhuman existence. However the issue is: Can current human society
peacefully devise mechanisms to reliably contain nanotechnology
development - in the context of the profits & power nanotech can conceivably
generate for its implementers?
This issue is the stuff World Wars are made of... I lived though the Cuban
Missile Crisis - and I tell you the nano... and artilect... embyonic
controversies are far, far more potent (in terms of hitting at core human
instincts...) than whether it's better to be Dead than Red!
