Actually I saw a woman from the VNS (the organization that does the exit
polls) last Wednesday night I believe explaining why the exit polls were
wrong. Apparently there was some human error somewhere in their org that
mis-entered one or more of the numbers. Even if we assume some mixup in
palm beach it still woulda been too close for the VNS to call in FL... I
believe their own errors internally guided them to call it for Gore. I
do not have a source for this as it was on TV (CNN).
