Thanks Brian. I hate to disappoint, but I'm not really in a position to
post my essay, as The Economist now has first publication rights. However
it will be published in December, in The Economist's annual publication,
this year entitled "The World in 2001", which will be available on most all
newstands where The Economist itself is available. All eight winners will
be officially announced in the pages of The Economist in early November.
I'll post links to these items as they become available.
Thanks also to Greg Burch for the very nice announcement post.
I also want to send my best wishes to the other extropians who entered the
competition. When I was first contemplating entering it, I thought it might
be nice if we could later post all the extropian submissions to the
Shell/Economist essay contest on the Extropy.org site. Any interest?
Cheers,
Bill Douglass
