In 2000 BC the Egyptians came up with a value for PI of 4*[8/9]^2 = 3.16049...
By 550 BC, about the time The Book Of Kings in the Bible was written, even better
approximations were known by the mathematically sophisticated, but apparently
not by the author of the Bible.
