        the first thing that came to my mind is from douglas r.
hofstadter's masterpiece, _godel, escher, bach_. it is a three dimensional
solid shaped in such a way that its planar projection in each of
the three dimensions is a different letter -- 'G' 'E' 'B'. admittedly, it
is a 3-sided perception; however, its adaptation to two dimensions should
be straight-forward.
