The rate of acceleration is also rather small. Intelligent life must over-take this acceleration eventually and mannipulate it into Omega. Curiously enough, there is a parallel of Cousert's question in this week's New Scientist, The Last Computer, by Marcus Chown. Also, let us not forget Hans Moravec and his retro-fitted Neutron Star cosmos.
