I remember watching TV when some of those sheik-ey types surrendered to GIs
wearing T-shirts and camo pants in the Persian Gulf desert. Extreme hikers would
do better, I think, by discarding the fashionable throbe and going for something
more practical (unless, of course, this new sport involves some kind of ethnic
devolutionary regimentation).
