I'd have thought: more often, damaged in certain relevant oncogenic ways by
disruptive chemicals, oxidative stress, radiation mutation, etc.
(`accelerators' jammed on, `brakes' knocked out). But it would certainly be
interesting to know how much tumor-conducive damage is caused by copying
errors and the like due to telomere erosion in frequently-replaced cells.
