Good point. Hopefully, when upgrades become easy people will
"want" to believe what is right and upgrade themselves accordingly so
such character attributes will become not be so rare.
But kurzweil et all still talk as if the Turing test is the
best or only way to determine consciousness, even for them.
By dancing in the heavens, we have successfully convinced most
of the people that the world is not flat. Augmenting, effing of
consciousness... will do the same for consciousness, ideas about the
spirit..., and all that.
Now history on the other hand, how can you argue with someone
that says God altered the historical evidence to appear different than
reality just to see if we have "faith"!? ;) And who cares about all
that history? I just want to know what salt tastes like for you, and
experience what my wife feels when we have sex, be consciously aware
of all the data flows as my computer compiles my latest java
program....!
