I delighted to see all the interest in Mars!
Terraforming:
It took many millions of years for mars to lose it's atmosphere (we
believe) and once reconstituted it would be around for millions
more.
This has been the subject for both Zubrins "The Case For Mars", and
Kim Stanley Robinsons, Mars trilogy "Red Mars,Green Mars,Blue
Mars."
If Dr Zubrin seems harried it's because he is, he's trying to
colonize a planet! Having spoken to him at length a number of
times, including dinner last time he was in town, I can assure you
he's a great guy, your basic rocket engineer. ;)
This is going to be a big year for Mars and the Mars Society. The
first of three films on Mars is due out in March, and the Mars
Society is launching the Mars arctic research station this summer.
Check out the Mars Flag! (already have mine!)
