Reminds me of the scene in the John Varley novel, The Ophiuchi Hotline.
Our heroine is on Pluto, the "anything goes" planet, and a naked guy
comes up and propositions her. "What use would that thing be to me?"
she asks scornfully, pointing at his genitals, which have been "radically
modified". "It's okay, I have an adapter," he says, holding up this
squirming pink thing...
