The libertarian variant on this is "The Market will decide." Generally
whenever someone proposes something that puts an "activist" on the spot to
actually commit to doing something real, then you hear this trotted out - as
though their own market heros - Henry Ford, Edison, etc., waited for someone
else to decide what kind of car or device they would introduce.
