NETWORK OF SPIRITUAL PROGRESSIVES AND BEYT TIKKUN MEMBERS, HERE IS YOUR
OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT THE LATTER-DAY DANIEL ELLSBERG, PVT. BRADLEY
MANNING. COURAGE TO RESIST, IRAQ VETERANS AGAINST THE WAR, and MANY OTHER
ORGANIZATIONS ARE SEEKING DONATIONS TO COVER THE COSTS OF BRADLEY'S LEGAL
DEFENSE.

You can send Bradley Manning a "High Five" by going to the link below, and
donating $5 - yes, just five dollars - or more if you wish....

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

In April, the Wikileaks website released a video depicting a US helicopter
attack in Baghdad that killed eleven unarmed Iraqi civilians, including two
Reuters employees, and seriously wounded two children.

Titled "Collateral Murder", the video was widely posted and reported on. The
actual perpetrators of the murders caught on video have not been charged.
Instead...

The Army charged 22-year-old intelligence analyst Pfc. Bradley Manning with
providing the video after he allegedly took credit for doing so online. He
has been held in solitary confinement in a military prison in Quantico,
Virginia for the past 85 days. Previous to that he was held in custody in
Kuwait.

The Potomac, Maryland native was charged with two counts of the Uniform Code
of Military Justice (UCMJ). The first encompasses eight alleged criminal
offenses, and a second covers four noncriminal violations of Army
regulations governing the handling of classified information and computers.
According to the Army, the "classified video of a military operation in Iraq
was transmitted to a third party, in violation of a section of the Espionage
Act, 18 USC 793(e)," which involves passing classified information to an
uncleared party, but not a foreign government. He allegedly also provided
Wikileaks with 50 classified diplomatic cables that are thought to contain
embarrassing insights into the state of the US occupation of Iraq.

Courage to Resist, along with members of Iraq Veterans Against the War
(IVAW) and Veterans for Peace, has launched an effort to support Bradley
Manning. We know other concerned organizations and individuals around the
world who are also in the process of finding ways to support Bradley
Manning. These include advocates for whistle-blowers and supporters of
freedom of information.

Writing a letter to Bradley is one step in attempting to break his
isolation. Mail to: Inmate Bradley Manning; TFCF (Theater Field Confinement
Facility); APO AE 09366; USA

We now need to take responsibility for providing Bradley Manning with
qualified civilian legal representation. The legal expenses would also
include the need for expert witnesses. Courage to Resist is asking
supporters to donate funds earmarked for that purpose.

All those in the Network of Spiritual Progressives and in Beyt Tikkun who
wish to support Bradley Manning - a latter-day Daniel Ellsberg - can go to
the website page set up for donations to his legal defense, and to other
expenses related to the campaign for Bradley Manning.
