I think these talks are of particular interest to your networks:

http://fscons.org/extensions/design-patterns-between-free-software-and-permaculture
http://fscons.org/extensions/self-organized-plenty-emergence-physical-peer-production
http://fscons.org/extensions/distributed-democracy
http://fscons.org/making/end-world-we-know-it-how-do-you-feel

"If we don't do it, who will?"

With those words, last years speaker Karin Kosina ended an interview
conducted with her during the Free Society Conference and Nordic
Summit (FSCONS), an event about the future of society at large and
which the 5-7th of November 2010 is organised for the fourth time in
Gothenburg, Sweden.

In the book Free Culture by Lawrence Lessig, it's written that "the
battles that now rage regarding life on-line have fundamentally
affected ‘people who aren’t online.’ There is no switch that will
insulate us from the Internet’s effect." Without a question, there is
a lot to be discussed both online and offline. It's not about file
sharing. That debate has been pronounced dead more times than we can
count. Nor is it about Microsoft vs Apples or a fight between the
commercial giants and the free alternatives. It's about the discourse
about the future of society: who will be in control of our cultural
heritage? Who are we designing the future for? How will be built, and
by whom?

Of particular interest in this years conference is Michael Chisari et
al:s presentation on building socially responsible social networks and
Erik de Bruijn on RepRap and free hardware.

Smari McCarthy will speak on "The End of the World as we Know it: How
do you feel?", Karthik Ivyer on the Economics of Open Innovation.
Oystein Jakobsen will present a system for distributed democracy.
Christian Siefkes on "Self-organized Plenty: The Emergence of Physical
Peer Production" and Denis Jaromil Roio on "Design Patterns between
Free Software and Permaculture".
