It was an experiment to create a standard wiki page namespace
"wikinode" that would describe the purpose of the wiki you are on, and
wiki communities that consider themselves "connected" There are a few
hundred wikis that possess them. Example:

http://collaboration.wikia.com/wiki/WikiNode (see how it links back to
p2p wiki?)

The main rallying wiki for wikinodes movement is now offline :(  It
could explain more
