Vandana will be holding a workshop on identifying the challenges imposed by
globalization & private property on common & collective resources and
exploring ideas on *reclaiming the commons* for wellbeing society. In a
second session, a public dialogue with Vandana will cover *Earth Democracy:
Justice, Sustainability & Peace*

*Nic Marks*

   - British founder of NEF’s award winning Centre for Wellbeing
   - Innovative researcher & lead author of *Happy Planet Index* (HPI)

Nic will hold a public lecture & debate on the HPI & birth of ‘*new
economics*’. He will also be conducting a full day workshop on the use of
HPI, wellbeing accounting & the application of *wellbeing
indicators*towards social transformation

*Sulak Sivaraksa*

   - Prominent Siamese Buddhist intellectual & activist
   - Right Livelihood Laureate – 1995
   - Author of several books including *The Wisdom of Sustainability:
   Buddhist Economics for the 21st Centaury*

In a morning contemplating Happiness for Global Transformation, Sulak will
be discussing the principles of *Buddhist Economics* from the perspective of
political science.

*Dasho Karma Ura*

   - President of Centre for Bhutan Studies (CBS)
   - Artist & former Vice-chair to the National Council of Bhutan

As part of our *10 day study visit through Bhutan*, Dasho holds a workshop
on *Gross National Happiness* (GNH), the 9 domains of the GNH indicators &
lessons learnt from Bhutan, the land of GNH.

students, activists and agents for change in contemplation of contemporary
cultural dilemmas, poverty, injustice and environmental degradation
