My critique is fairly simple, and for all I know, it could be wrong:
Where is the open standard published at, and how do I begin to use it in
blogs, wiki engines, social network sites, online phone applications, etc
etc, today?
That's it.
There is
http://metacurrency.org/content/extensible-game-format-language-xgfl
And these examples:
http://github.com/zippy/flowplace/tree/f4bb36b66707bdf175b166e43b2e2850686505c5/currencieswhich
is a step in the right direction
However, I find no documents, specs, RFC's, anything that shows me how to go
about creating a currency as they have done, using xgfl. Plus, xgfl to me
does not seem appropriate, nor robust enough as the basis of a standard for
metacurrencies of many types. Can anyone please correct me, or show me
otherwise? It is common when I discuss this topic with people, for them to
immediately refer me to this project, but I am not finding much that I can
replicate and use right now, today.
All of that said, I agree with most if not all of the core principles that
are espoused at http://metacurrency.org
