It is a very frightening sort of argument Ridley is making...frightening for
both the radical right and the loony left.  He won't end up being liked for
saying these things which are very pragmatic and anti-metaphysical.  The
right actually has the most to lose from what he is saying...and he is now
starting to get attacked very hard from conservatives who need their gods
and laws of nature.  The left is so intellectually hopeless now, I'm not
sure how they can be more damaged.

The New Atheism continues to spark most of the interesting and fresh ideas
even on its fringes.
