Category pages are great for collecting together a couple of hundred
links automatically, but even collecting the highlights for the
category could be done in other ways. This is a step in that
direction, allowing us to make focus pages that collect information
from lots of locations without the editing hassle, and leaving some
choice to the article owner about what is included, which I think is
very neat. The behavior is by design, and is a distributed approach.
