Carlota Perez, herself a neo-Schumpeterian, in her book, Technological
Revolutions and Financial Capital, has an interesting theory on the
dominance of finance capital, x-liberal thinking, and supply-side economics
as a recurring meme in the descending phase of kondratieff cycles ... when
the old productive logic is in crisis, finance capital becomes more
independent and dominant, and exerts ideological domination around these
more extractive business philosophies, and each time, 1873, 1929, 2008, it
ends in tears ..
