Hi Eric,
do you know more entries that should go under the heading:
Thanks for sending suggestions,
Michel

You should probably also add:
- Makerbeam - open source construction material (Sam Putman,
Sam at Makerbeam.com)
- Fab at Home (Hod Lipson and Evan Malone, are very hard to reach though)
- Makerbot of course, but you could leave it under the RepRap
heading... (it's derived from it and uses many components and software
in common)
- Contraptor
- Open3DP (Not necessarily open source but promoting open
collaboration, Gerald barnett at u.washington.edu and Mark Ganter
<ganter at uw.edu> )
They released an open source 3D printer done with a group a students
(See Personal 3D printer on thingiverse here:
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:815
, still alpha))
- http://homemade3dprinter.blogspot.com/ (openly shared, not sure
about license)
- http://groups.yahoo.com/phrase/3d-printer (unsure about diffusion)
shared 3D mineral
printer, project not very active)
- CandyFab from Evil Mad Scientists (started around 2007?) www.candyfab.org
(limited diffusion)
- RepTab by Open Source Ecology - a CNC plasma torch table (cuts
through steel)
- MultiMachine: open source drill press, milling machine, lathe, etc.
all-in-one system (unsure about diffusion)
- Microfactories, like oomlout's wire cutting system:
http://blog.thingiverse.com/2009/02/11/new-year-new-things/ (not
diffused, though)
- ... I can look up more of them if it's useful...
And obviously there are many examples of open source CNC systems,
since this technology have been around for a very long time. Please
update me if you have the document improved, it would be a useful data
source for me as well as soon as it's more complete! Perhaps you could
share it with my (edit rights)? (if so, use erikdebruijn1 at gmail.com)
