That has 501c3 status that is willing to mentor our projects. Specifically,
we would like to get a grant from an existing 501c3 NPO. I have been told
this is common for new Non Profits to get a leg to stand on. We have not
obtained our 501c status due to budget. Our core motto is sustainability.
Our particular projects are barter systems including 'blended currencies'
combined with sustainability studies (i.e. triple bottom line) for local
individuals and businesses. With the exception of the barter system, all our
projects are open source. Technologies include urban gardens, urban compost
with local restaurants, distillation and biodiesel, aquaculture, and open
source hardware and software to make these technologies more efficient.
Whenever possible, we use recycled materials. We intend to be profitable
through consultations, workshops, and manufacturing. We have excellent pro
bono legal counsel as well. Any ideas ? we are struggling a bit right now
due to the cost of our facility and the time of year (end of 4th quarter,
holidays, cold weather).
