*Call for papers - Economics of Digital Piracy*
Special Issue of Information Economics and Policy

Co-Edited by Martin Peitz, Professor of Economics, University of Mannheim;
and Joel Waldfogel, Professor of Business and Public Policy, The Wharton
School, University of Pennsylvania.

We are soliciting theory and empirical contributions on issues related to
digital piracy. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:

   - the functioning of file-sharing systems,
   - the design of digital IP rights and DRM systems,
   - the effect of file sharing on sales of legitimate products,
   - the creation, distribution, pricing, and packaging of digital products
   in response to piracy.

Contributions may be relevant to multiple industries, or may have a
particular industry focus on, say, music, movies, or software.

The deadline for submissions is *October 1, 2009*, and we intend to publish
the issue in 2010. Please submit electronically to [image: External link]
http://www.ees.elsevier.com/iepol/. In the second step, select the special
issue on digital piracy under “article type.”
